Thanks Karin , very interesting. Can you share where this may be available / dosing and any trials you might be aware of. I’m also trying to place it with low dose lithium which reduces ER stress and something like NMN ? ( plus Curcumin, quercetin etc. What would be your stack please around mitochondrial health?

sorry for late reply. I was in Europe for a few weeks and am just catching up on emails and messages. I take Lithium daily. SS-31 and MOTS-C are the two mitochondrial peptides I cycle quarterly.

Thank you also for the peptides info. I subscribe to stay curious and am giving it thought. I am almost 67 male, Caucasian, with 4/4 and ptau217 plasma tests become available here second half 2026 (Australia). Doing most of the things suggested , seem preclinical, also had x3 BCG shots and Shingrix etc and thinking maybe going to full option if 217 not the best later this year. Have you noticed improvement in biomarkers post peptides?

considering the many facets of my prevention protocol, it's difficult to pinpoint exactly what the peptides improve. For what it's worth, when I take the SS-31, my Oura ring resilience score goes straight up to "Exceptional" after a cycle and then tapers back down a bit - so it's clearly doing something. I haven't done the ptau217 yet - only because I wouldn't do anything different. Once Obicetrapib becomes available, I'll likely take the test then to get a baseline.

I also subscribe to "Stay Curious" and I love Nick's content. His take on statins and cholesterol is interesting and he may well be on to something - however, I think he might be playing Russian Roulette being APOE4/4. Genes change the equation dramatically.

Where do you find a provider who is familiar with protocols for using SS-31?

I've seen concierge medicine practices online that advertise SS-31 in their offering. I order mine directly from a reputable (and third party tested) peptide company. Just a heads up: They all come labeled "for research only" and not for human use.

I so appreciate your views. Wish we had doctors that were educated in the APOE/4 genotype.

Thanks for posting! I will be waiting for the next one.

Karin, I'm with you. Time isn't on my side. Anything that helps reduce oxidative stress can't be a bad thing. I'm all for supporting the systems I have that may just need a little help every once in a while. When I learned of my 4/4 status, I started building my protocol at the mitochondria. If it's the powerhouse of the cell, it makes sense to start with the basics. Thanks for sharing this. Very interesting and definitely something to think about adding to my attack plan.
